To help you compare accommodation options, Google displays the official class rating assigned to hotels by local authorities where available or assigns class ratings to hotels. Recognizing the need for multilingual support, Google has made it possible for your Google Home speaker to speak and understand more than one language. This article explains how to add a second language to the Google Home app on your mobile phone. Languages that work with Google Home include English, French, German, Chinese, Danish, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Dutch, Norwegian, Spanish, and dialects within these languages. That’s basically all phones and smart speakers with the Assistant, but not the new smart displays, as they only support English right now. Once added, you’ll be able to speak to your Google Home in both English and the language you’ve selected. If you haven't set any languages yet, tap Add a language on both lines to select two languages. Google may display information about hotel sustainability practices and eco-certifications where applicable.
If you have other family members using the speaker, each user needs to set up Voice Match with the device in addition to the second language they want to use. That way, Google Assistant will know which language each member prefers and will answer accordingly. Google Home currently has 12 different language selections to choose from. That number adds to the languages the smart assistant already supports. If you added the wrong language by accident and want to change or remove it, just go back to this menu. You can scroll to the bottom of the list and select None to fully remove the second language.
Join the Public Preview to try new Google Home app features early. Tap “Add a language” and select from the list of displayed languages. To remove the second language, go back into the language settings, select the language you no longer want to be supported, then tap None. To help with your hotel search, Google may show info about the rooms at each hotel, like maximum occupancy or bed type. This info can help you compare accommodation options and narrow your search. As of right now, the Assistant can understand any pair of languages with English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, and Japanese, with more languages to come in the coming months. Your speaker will then respond in the language you used in giving out the instruction. Yesterday I had an DSL outage which forced me to completely reinstall my router. I linked back my Google devices into my household and the Mini works just fine in both languages.
